Laura + John | Destination | New York Wedding

Just because we live nearby doesn’t mean a New York Wedding isn’t a destination wedding! At least it was for Laura and Jonathan! They’re from Hawaii, and their guests were from all over the world, so why not have a huge celebration in a major world city!?! Sounds good to me! Especially when Laura called me two weeks before their wedding. Good thing I happen to have their date free!

Jonathan is a Captain in the military, so his uniform was fitting for the occasion. Laura looked absolutely amazing in her dress from Bridal Trousseau in Branford, CT, finished off with the most killer shoes I wanted to steal! The Lighthouse at Pier 60 gave us a beautifully urban, industrial setting overlooking the Hudson River, while a Cuban band and a kick-ass NYC DJ set the mood with the greatest music.

Congrats Laura and Jonathan! It was such a pleasure and an honor to be there for you to photograph your amazing wedding day!

Enjoy!

  • Incredible. Love this wedding. Love her dress, their location, their details--and the EMOTION! So many amazing and moving moments captured. That father-daughter dance--whew--almost got me crying! Love the verticals of the bride and groom by the window just after they first saw each other. Gorgeous, Jackie.
