We love this Unique comic book wedding!
This unique wedding was the perfect mix of traditional and offbeat. The setting of Elizabeth Park + The Pond House is exactly what Emily + Casey imagined for their wedding. Their decor was inspired by the gardens, their love of brunch, and especially their favorite comic book, Swamp Thing. Among their comic book details, a piece was read from Swamp Thing issue #34 during the ceremony! It was matched by the reception guestbook – a poster of pages from that same issue! It seems like all their details were equally their favorite, most of all, the vintage toasting flutes and the card basket.
Our super creative bride handcrafted many of the details herself. The table numbers and beautiful watercolored place cards were two of her artistic creations, as well as designing the whole day! Emily + Casey are passionate about environmental justice (bees in particular), so they used local CT honey as their wedding favors. The surprise groom’s cake featured additional comic book characters, The Maxx and Julie Winters. There’s even a geeky pun for their formal wedding cake, which is topped with Belle from Disney and the Beast from X-Men, thus giving you Beauty and the Beast.
Enjoy!
